Getting Started Designing Your Website with 2 Dogs Design

Step One:

A Brand New Website

  • 50% Downpayment required to get started
  • A Signed Agreement: Review and sign the supplied agreement
  • Domain Name: Decide on a domain name. We will check on the availability and advise. Since you will (hopefully) have this for a long time, make it a good one. We will register it and apply it to the host.

Or

Rebuild A Current Website

  • 50% Downpayment required to get started
  • Signed Agreement: Review and sign the supplied agreement
  • Domain Login: We will need access to your current domain to be able to modify it. If you wish we can transfer it to our server for safer keeping
  • Hosting or WordPress Login: We will also need access here. Your previous administrator should be able to provide this.

Step Two

Design Ideas:

A Logo Design

We will need a logo in one of the following formats: PNG, JPG or PDF.

If you need one made we can design one for you

A Color Scheme

Some colors that work well together. Colors from your logo are a good start.

Colors should show the feeling that you want your business to convey. There are articles on complimentary colors on the web.

Photos

Photos are important! I'm sure you have heard that a picture is worth a thousand words.

Very important for you to send us the "story" of your business. You know it better than we can ever know it.

Explanations to go with the photos and text to explain what you can do for your customers go a long way.

Your pictures and words come together to create a great story to help your business to be the best it can be!

Step Three

Designing Your Website:

  • Once you have given us the requested materials, we can get to work. This is the fun part!
  • First we will do a "mockup".  This will be our ideas to start. Once we get are ready to show you our work, you'll be sent a link to view it.
  • At that point, you'll be able to critique what we have so far.
  • You will probably want some changes. That's good. It's your site afterall. Make a list of the changes and forward to us.
  • At first, just preview the site on your desktop or laptop. We initially design for a full size screen and it won't be optimized for mobile until we are closer to the final design.
  • Don't be afraid to request changes. This is yours and we want you to be happy!

Step four

launching Your Website:

  • Once you are satisfied, we will make it "live".
  • Review every page for accuracy.
  • Make it mobile friendly.
  • Publish it to your domain name.
  • Submit the site to search engines, especially Google. VERY IMPORTANT!
  • Configure regular backups.
  • Install analytics tracking.
  • Note that several of these above steps won't be apparent to you. They are on the backend of the site. Rest assured that it is happening.
  • The monthly maintenance will be billed starting the first day of the next month after launch.
  • The remaining 50% will be due upon the launch date.
  • We would appreciate an honest testimonial from you. This could be on Google or Facebook.
